Growth inhibitors | Dry weight
Plants in a greenhouse have the urge to become unnaturally long and slim.

Gardeners have seen that this undesirable stretch partially is caused by an unbalanced light diet: The crops receive much PAR light, but the UV light that comes as a natural part of sunlight is very limited underneath glass and plastic. So, the plant “searches” UV light but is not able to find it and stretches itself further.
That bad permeability of glass and plastic for natural UV also causes other challenges: like low dry weight percentage and an unnatural green color. Red cabbage underneath glass and plastic even stays green. These problems have all been solved by a daily treatment with CleanLight. Red cabbage becomes red again.

In practice this means the following:
-
- More UV treatments per day. At least 3 times a day spread over the time that PAR light also is available in the crops.
-
- Especially in the winter. Especially when the greenhouse stays closed so not even UV stray light will enter the greenhouse.
-
- The crops become more compact, heavier, and their natural brighter color returns.
